Ice Bucket Challenge

28th September 2014

Fr John McGrath (St Aloysius Springburn), Rev. Brian Casey (Springburn Parish Minister) and Frank Keenan (Deputy Head of St Martha's Primary, Balornock) were ceremonially soaked by an ecumenical gang of children today!

The warm weather ensured a large crowd turned out for the spectacle and Mr Keenan's presence brought out an unusually high number of school children.
The magnificent sum of £540.12 was raised for the Marie Curie Hospice including £50 cheque from Cooperative Funeral Care, so the loss of clerical dignity was a small price to pay.
A big thank you to all the kind folk of Springburn for a happy, memorable day. For those who weren't able to attend, you might enjoy the following photos....

A relaxing afternoon in the late summer sunshine....

...ahh, a nice soothing foot bath, what could be better?

Fr John: "wait, I'm not ready, I'm not...ARRGGHH"

In for a penny, in for a pound!

Anyone think Fr John is a little too enthusiastic in his drenching of Rev. Brian?

Fair play to Rev. Brian, matching Fr John drop for drop!

The kids seize their chance for revenge on Deputy Head Frank...

...clearly in shock, Mr Keenan wonders "what hit me?"

The last throw of the ice - well done to the Three Bucketeers!
